Sara Ramirez

Sara Ramirez, a Mexican-American performer and actress, is quite popular. In her early years Sara was targeted for racial discrimination by American citizens of all races. When she went to school contests and received the highest praise for her singing, in ninth grade the young girl started to grow more confident. Not only did she gain confidence because of the experience however, she also re-evaluate her career goals. The 22-year-old earned a degree from the Julliard School in New York. She began her career at age 23 with Paul Simon's The Capeman on Broadway and You've Got Mail in film. The greatest success of her career came in the role of The Lady of The Lake in Spamalot's initial Broadway production. She did not only receive the Tony Award, but her performance was also praised by the critics. Later that year, as Callie Torres on Grey's Anatomy for ABC the show, she received more appreciation. As a well-known singer, she has also released both songs and plays. She has also been an advocate for LGBT concerns.
