Zoe-perry
Perry was born the 25th of July 1968 in Chicago, Illinois to Laurie Metcalf Perry and Jeff Perry. On the ABC sitcom Roseanne (as shown in flashback) her mother portrayed Jackie Harris in two of Perry's first TV roles. She did not consider a career in acting after reaching the age of adulthood due to her parents being afraid of the negative effects that stress could cause. Perry confessed that she wasn't at ease in the stage during high school, but started performing as a means to make friends in Northwestern University after switching from Boston University. When she graduated, Perry went into New York to search for television work landing small roles in shows like Law & Order: Criminal Intent However, she was stricken by homelessness and brought her back to California and she was able to find theater work. Perry performed with her mom in The Other Place at Broadway, back in 2013. Perry was in the show with the father of her character Kevin McKidd and Eugene O'Neill's Pulitzer Prize winning drama Anna Christie in 2015 on The Odyssey Theatre Ensemble, West Los Angeles. In 2016, Perry appeared on nine episodes of ABC's thriller The Family. Her father played her on The ABC show Scandal. The actress was also featured on her role on the CBS sitcom The Big Bang Theory spinoff Young Sheldon as a version younger Mary Cooper, Sheldon Cooper's mom. The character was picked through an audition, even though she had a close association with it.
